extremely cheap feeling. the gauge was not accurate and was not fully attached to the inside of the case. its quite loud and vibrates violently. light is not very bright. it does, however, inflate tires. its a little slow, but it works. i used mine for about 2 weeks and returned it. just didnt seem like it was worth the money.

Had it for about 8 months and I only used it three times. The third time was the charm %&*#@#*&! and it never worked since. Invest your money in a better quality model or another brand.

5 Stars Good value and amperage less than expected
Value is good in my opinion: attractive, self storing, very compact and light weight, illumination and compressor each have their own switch, current draw (amperage) tested quite OK for my 10A cigar lighter, electrical cord is flexible and feels substantial, and the plug that came on my unit appears to be high quality. Inflation performance is slower than I would like but in the end OK due to selecting the Slime unit primarily for emergency road use where the priority is simply having a working compressor, whether it is fast or slow being secondary. Gauge accuracy was comparable to several other tire gauges on hand. Noisy but again OK for the price.

Somewhat concerned about reports of high amperage draw, I rigged up the plug with alligator clips and connected the unit directly to my car battery so I could check the actual amperage draw of my unit with two well calibrated ammeters. Both ammeters tested the Slime unit to draw 6.2 amps when pumping at 42 psi. This is well below the 15A fuse rating that is stamped on the fuse holder that comes integral with the unit’s cigar lighter plug. (The fuse in the holder was in fact a 15 amp fuse.) My car is a 2000 Nissan with 10 amp fused cigar lighter. Using the particular Slime COMPO3 unit I purchased gave me no trouble on this subject and neither the plug nor the cord ever got hot. Keep in mind that a fuse rating does NOT necessarily indicate normal current draw. The fuse is there to keep the unit from catching fire in case of malfunction. Therefore, actual current draw (except for brief transients, say, at a startup) should always be well below what would cause a fire if maintained indefinitely in the subject unit and therefore actual current draw under steady state conditions should in fact normally be well below the fuse rating on any equipment.

I purchased the Slime COMPO3 for road emergency. I would not use the Slime COMPO3 for this routine maintenance unless it was all I had. Routine maintenance of proper tire pressure is something I perform in my garage with a low cost 120 VAC compressor that is satisfyingly fast and far more convenient. It has a small tank, 25 ft coiled hose and quick release air chuck with integral pressure gauge. It is always plugged in and ready to use, reaches everywhere I want without hassle, and then stores immediately by virtue of the coiled hose. Five minutes every other weekend or so is plenty to keep four tires always just about right.

Although the toggle operated tire chuck that comes with the Slime COMPO3 appears more or less similar to what comes on all tire inflators regardless of price, none of the toggle operated chucks are very satisfactory in my opinion: sometimes awkward or actually impossible to operate with a weak hand, or cold and numb fingers, and then difficult to remove without wasting air from the tire anyway. Therefore, like I would do for any tire inflator, I immediately cut off the OEM tire chuck and installed an inexpensive lock-on tire chuck of the quick release variety. This adds three to six dollars for the chuck plus another two dollars for a fitting (1/4 ID hose barb X 1/4 MPT) required to properly adapt the tire chuck to the hose. The quick release tire chuck makes it effortless to connect or disconnect with the tire valve stem while suffering negligible air loss (a very brief “pffft”-sound) even with cold, wet, aching hands and fingers in a January snow storm – the very time the Slime COMPO3 may be needed. If you make this modification, you will want to wrap the hose with electrical tape in the vicinity of the cut when cutting off the old fitting. This will keep the fabric cover from unraveling.

Very satisfied for the money.

It is a very nice small air compressor, not just for car. It also works for filling air in balls, with all neccessary little equipments available in package. I am glad with the purchase. But it has a big noise when use it. Amazon delivery is super.

I inflated four car tires and was happy with the product until I pulled out the connector from the car lighter. I touched it and it was so hot that it burned my hand. I returned it to the store immediately. I’ve used these types of inflators before and never had this problem. Be careful when using the product.

4 Stars inexpensive insurance . . .
My experience with Slime has been limited to bicycle tires, where the product does a good job sealing up pinhole and other small punctures in the tire tube. I have never used Slime in an automobile tire, but since the materials are basically the same, I would assume that the product would work in a similar way.

For an automobile, where the flat occurs makes a big difference. If your car is parked and notice your tire is flat, this kit would probably be quite useful. You can at least use the compressor to pump up the tire and check how bad the leak is. If it is a fast leak, you can try using the Slime and see if it takes care of the problem. The car does not need to be jacked up to use the product.

If the puncture happens when the car is being driven, the problem is more serious. When you drive on tire that is significantly deflated or flat, most times you will do heavy duty damage, or tear the tire. If that happens, Slime won’t help. The tire will need to be replaced. The instructions state that Slime will not work on punctures greater than 1/4 inch. So basically, Slime is intended to address only minor tire damage.

The Smart Spair kit is a pretty good deal. It consists of a 16 ounce bottle of slime, and a compressor which plugs into the lighter outlet. According to the label, a 16 ounce bottle, should be adequate to treat one averaged sized tire. The 16 ounce bottle is available at Amazon for about nine dollars. Subtract this cost from the price of the kit, and you are getting the compressor for less than fifteen dollars, which is not a bad deal. The compressor has a pressure valve, ten foot cord, and on/off switch. It is pretty noisy, and seems to have a reasonably quick pump rate. It is rated for use on a minimum 15 amp circuit. Some older cars have lighter circuits rated at only 8 amps, so you may want to check this before you buy.

Hopefully I will not have to use the Smart Spair. Based on the good (though limited) experience I have with Slime, I thought it would be good to have around, just in case. There are many situations, where changing a tire at the side of the road, can be hazardous. A kit like this could be valuable to those that are not capable of, jacking up their vehicle and changing the tire. It does not take a mechanical genius to follow the directions.

What can I say, simple & quick flat repair especially for my motorcycle. Rode 2100 miles after pulling a nail out before getting internal patch put on, never ever leaked one pound of air the entire trip with this Slime in it!! It would have been a long hard push to a safe spot and waiting for a tow truck then finding a MC shop to repair the tire if not for Slime kit. A serious MUST have!

5 Stars Portable, fast source for compressed air.
I have an Airstream trailer in storage and the tires were a bit low. Foot pumps were tried to keep the pressure up, but they were useless. This pump, with its start-up at 120psi and shut-off at 145psi is just like having a compressed air tank. The hose is long enough to reach both sides of a 30′ trailer without relocating the compressor. The valve clamp is metal and connects securely. The gauge and hand control are easy to read and operate. It was so fast taking the air pressure from 15psi to the 60psi that it was almost embarrassing. The process of filling four tires, including cool-down, was only 15 minutes.

I use this compressor everytime I go camping. Last weekend I aired up 2 air bags on my pickup and notice both rear tires where down about 10 psi. This compressor did both tires and both air bags in about 5 minutes and compressor was barely warm. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for.

5 Stars Best little portable 12v compressor out there
I purchased this product a couple of weeks ago to “air-up” the tires on my FJ Curiser after wheeling on the beach. I have tried other units over the past 20 years or so and they never really did the job, but this one performed better than I could have hoped. I was able to “air-up” all 4 tires from 18lbs to 35lbs in about 15 minutes.

I was very pleased with the quick connect inflation hose, with tire inflation gun and the rubber over mold pressure gauge. They all worked very well and easy to monitor prersure while filling. The compressor itself appreas to be very well made and heavy duty and very easy to set up, use and put away – the hardest part was opening the hood of my truck to get to the battery.

I highly recomend this product and the seller, Central 4 Wheel Drive. The item shipped fast and was packed up very well.

If you’re tired of those cheap plastic compressors which last a year or two, then this is the unit which you need.

I doubt that you can wear out or break this compressor in a million years – it’s the Rolls Royce of compressors. Very glad that I got it!
